This Colonial Revival Dining Set and Buffet sat in my workshop for over a year until inspiration and motivation struck. Who am I kidding, it sat for so long because the table top was buried behind so many other pieces. I had to finish what was in front of it before I could get to the table.
My staging area is not large enough for the table and buffet, so I had to photograph them separately.

This table has one of the built in table leafs, so it extends out to fit the 6 chairs.
I stained the top of the table to get a darker color by using Java Gel Stain and sealed using Minwax Wipe-0n Polyurethane.
I painted the chairs using Persian Blue and Linen Milk Paint from General Finishes. I also used the Linen for the table base.
The fabric is Plazzo by P. Kaufman from fabric.com. The fabric was the inspiration for the entire piece. I picked the colors of the paint after I received this beautiful fabric in the mail. I am always hesitant to order fabric online without seeing and feeling, but now I have confidence ordering through fabric.com. They sell quality brands and have great service.
I sealed all the pieces using High Performance in flat by General Finishes and glazed with Glaze Effects in Van Dyke
.
The top of the buffet was in bad shape, so I had to sand down and remove all the flaking varnish and scratches.
I used all the same products on the buffet as I did on the matching dining table and chairs.
I used the original hardware and gave it a facelift as well. My storage area is cleaned out and I need to go find some more discarded furniture. I can’t wait to find another perfect piece to use more of this fabric.

Just Gorgeous! I love the combination of stained and painted furniture. I would like to do my kitchen table and chairs like this, they are hard rock maple, but the top has some kind of laminate over the wood, so don’t know how to get that off in order to stain it. Really like all of your projects! Such great inspirations!

Robyn, Is the laminate in good shape, if it is, you can use Java gel and stain over the laminate. If in bad shape and needs removed try using a heat gun.
