Tantalizing Tuesday – Snickerdoodle Cookies! Making snickerdoodle cookies is a must bake at our house at Christmas time. I received this recipe from a family member and have made these cookies for the past 18 few years. Wow, I don’t like the sound of that, it is aging me!
Mix shortening, butter, sugar and eggs together until well blended.
Sift all the dry ingredients together. Slowly blend into the cream mixture.
Once mixed throughly, form into small balls.
Roll balls into a cinnamon and sugar blend.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400(pre-heated)
Here is the recipe so you can copy and paste.
½ cup shortening
½ cup butter
1 ½ cup sugar
2 eggs
2 ¾ cup flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
Pre-heat oven to 400*. Mix shortening, butter, sugar and eggs together until well blended. Sift all the dry ingredients together. Slowly blend into the cream mixture. Once mixed throughly, form into small balls. Roll balls into a cinnamon and sugar blend. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
