I wanted to share another post on Fall Decorating. Last week I shared the Living Room, this week is the Dining Room.
The mirror was an outside window to the back of the house. An addition was placed on the back of the house and the owner’s converted the window into a mirror and kept all the original window trim. This is one of the great many charters of this 1927 house. I decorated the mirror ledge with a welcome plaque that I transformed from an old witch plaque, you can read this post here. I added pumpkin gourds as well as 2 dry floral arrangements on each side of the ledge. The floral vases I purchased at a garage sale for 10 cents each. I filled each vase with acorns and the dry floral.
The painting below the table is a painting that my husband did many years ago when he was in high school. It is a waterfall with an old red barn in the back ground.
My dining room table centerpiece is one of my favorite decorations. I used 3 glass jars in different sizes. I purchased them from Pat Catan’s a couple years ago, I believe they are still available. Each vase was the same style, just different sizes. I placed each vase inside the other. On the very outside space I layered different colored beans. The bottom layer was coffee beans, followed by navy beans, red beans, pinto beans, navy beans and then black beans. I used 3 vases so I can use live flowers and take the inside vase in and out as needed to clean and fill with water. We eat at the dining room table every night for dinner, so I do not have place settings for decorations on my table. I like to keep it simple and real.
What about you, do you have your table set with place settings for decoration?
