The Power Tool Challenge Team is starting the new year off with this month’s theme of “Organization.” The new year always brings about changes and we always seem to focus on getting rid of clutter and making our homes better organized. A great way is to organize these repurposed barn wood shelves.

A few months back, we purchased some old barn wood for various projects we wanted to complete. We mainly bought it to make wood frames for some large mirrors I found at a garage sale.
I had to have this old wormhole and live edge piece. It was the perfect width for the shelves I wanted above the coffee bar and having the live edge on them, I knew they would be perfect. I ran them through the Rigid planer to remove all the years of dirt and grime that was covering them. The wood had been sitting outside in all the Ohio elements.
I found these awesome wrought iron shelf brackets at a garage sale for $10 for all four of them. I, of course, purchased them before I even knew they would be in my home holding these beautiful repurposed barn wood shelves. I purchased this cafe rod to run between the brackets to hold the coffee mugs. Remember its all about using the space you have to maximize the area for the organization.
I made these cute chalkboard wooden labels for the baskets that hold the coffee pods. I purchased these baskets when they were on sale for 50% off a while back because I liked them so much and now I finally have the perfect home for them. I also found these chalkboard labels if you don’t already have black chalkboard paint on hand.
You can read all about the coffee bar makeover and see what I used to convert it to a coffee bar. It was a 1940’s radio cabinet. You need to go over and see the before.
Now to organize the rest of the house and get rid of the things we no longer need or use. Make sure you stop over to see how the other ladies are organizing their homes and what projects they have completed this month.
