Have you ever had a small budget and wanted to give some room in your house a refresh? I did a dining room refresh on a budget and the results were just what I needed.
I went shopping at World Market with my Explorer rewards coupons and a gift card and came home with the perfect items to give my dining room the refresh it needed for spring.

I like to keep my dining room tablescape simple. I like to be able to sit down for dinner without having to move the formal place setting and all the table decorations. I set up my dining room table with a Jute table runner in ivory, wooden bark chargers; a simple white serving bowl filled with white paper filler and placed a bird’s nest and some colored eggs for Easter. I like the bird’s nest as I can use these for spring, summer, and fall decorating and they add the perfect amount of natural décor.
I filled my cloche with the same bird’s nest and eggs and just stacked them to fill the cloche and give visual interest. Using cloches, vases or apothecary jars is a perfect way to change out your seasonal décor or use them to place your sentimental décor items inside. In the background you can see the drawers that I turned into wall shelves; you can read about that post here. I placed succulents, eggs, birds, glass jars, and vases to make a spring statement on the wall shelves.
I have wanted a “gather” sign above the mirror and I found the perfect sized one, except it was red. I figured I could make one and it would take longer than just to buy this one and paint it the galvanized color I was envisioning. Don’t let color detour you from buying the perfect piece, everything can always be painted.
I love vases of all sizes and colors and this green/blue vase (similar style) was the perfect item I needed to place on my vintage apothecary cabinet.
The 3-panel wall décor was custom-made by me and Mr. DD with the help of these World Market Metal tile plaques. (similar style) I will be sharing the post on how we made this custom 3-panel wall decor on Thursday, so if you don’t want to miss it, subscribe to my blog and you will get the post delivered to your inbox. I absolutely love how it turned out. My dining room table and chairs are also from World Market except I purchased it years ago. I also purchased these chair cushions (similar style)before the holidays.
I love how my dining room refresh turned out with the help of World Market. I have a few more DIY and refresh projects on the list for my dining room. I find it easier on the budget to make one refresh to the space at a time. I am going to paint the walls in a lighter neutral color, add new bar stools for the island and upholster the existing dining room chairs. My inspiration photo for my dining room chairs is below.
I think I can convert my existing dining room chairs to look similar to the Greyson side chairs, I am hoping that my vision turns out. I am also thinking about darkening the table to look like the one above as well. Mr. DD thinks I am crazy for taking on this project, but I just ignore him and try not to talk about my visions too much. I hope you will follow along with my DIY and decorating adventures.

Everything looks bright and springy. I’ll be interested to see the transition on those chairs.
