I loved the details on this copper top server and knew she would look so much better with a coat of paint.
My original plan was to paint her black, but once I was applying the white primer it started to bring out all the details and the pits in the wood grain. So she was asking for white paint and not another dark color like she was in her old life.
This copper top server was a Craigslist find that I wanted once I saw it had the original copper top.
I painted the inside and the hardware a shimmering deep bronze color. I thought the inside needed to painted since the wood stain was dark and not that pretty.
I applied a dark wax over the white chalk like paint to softened the white and give the piece some more depth and tone. I love how the dark wax enhanced the details of the server.
I love the copper top and how it gives the server so much charter. The piece was well-loved and had many dings in the copper.
The great thing about this piece is its versatility, use it as a bar, a server for storage or even a changing table. What do you think, how would you use this piece?
