Plans are far underway for the Airbnb guest suite.  We are putting the finishing touches in the space and wanted to share the Modern Kitchen Design Board that I have planned.

We had an open slate since the existing space was gutted and we started from scratch.

This kitchen was designed around the kitchen cabinets that I found from Willow Lane Cabinetry(now RTA).  I will be doing an entire post about these cabinets but for now, we are talking design.

Once I had the cabinet color selected, we chose the flooring.  I found it easier to match flooring to cabinets than the other way around.  The flooring is StoneCast in weathered barnboard.

I am turning an old dresser into an island similar to this one done by my friend and co-worker Tara from Modern Vintage.  

The polished silver accessories give the kitchen a modern feel.

Pfister Miri Pull Down Faucet  The features are endless on this faucet.  You have to go over and see those for yourself.  Mr. DD said it was one of the easiest he has installed.

Swing Arm Lamp – This is going above the coffee bar area.  I have seen so many of this style lights and knew I wanted one in the suite.

Metropolis Cabinet Hardware – They are modern and sleek and perfect for the dark cabinets.

Finding a good washable rug has been hard.  Most rugs have the backing after multiple washes it begins to fall apart or most are not machine washable.  I discovered Ruggable and I think this is the direction that I am going with the rugs for the kitchen and entry door.
