I am sharing another great furniture makeover, this time with these accent chairs. I teamed up with the Leather Hide Store and I am thrilled with the final fabric that I chose to use for the seats of the chairs.
They make a bold statement, don’t they? I wanted the chairs to make a statement and I know I achieved it with the paint color choice. You can use Massey Hill One Step Paint from Amy Howard and apply a dark antique wax to deepen the coral color.
I love a good bargain, don’t you? I was on my way to pick up Mr. DD and saw one of these chairs sitting on the curb, of course, I slowed down and I quickly turned around to go pick it up. As I was pulling over to get the chair, a lady was bringing out another one, even better. Doesn’t everyone like 2 for the price of one, and FREE! They were in great shape and needing a new paint job and better seat cushions.
I made a few sample boards of color choices to decide which color I wanted to paint the frame of the chair. I posted the color choices on my Facebook page and I let my viewers vote for which color they thought looked best with the Chocolate Swirl Leather remnant fabric. The coral was the winner. I would have been happy with any of those color choices. I did have to sand down the chairs because, after further inspection, I discovered that someone had painted the chairs and found a lot of paint drip marks.
I choose this gorgeous Chocolate Swirl Leather remnant fabric from LeatherHideStore.com. I can’t say enough about how nice this remnant leather piece is, the picture does not do the fabric justice.
Make sure you stop over to visit the Leather Hide Store and check out the great selection of leathers that they carry. The quality of the piece I received is great.
I love the bold contrast with the bright pop of coral color and the richness of the leather fabric.
I did order a few sample pieces of my favorite remnant fabrics before placing the final order. The picture above was a few of the other Leather remnant samples I chose. I had a hard time deciding between the remnants, and the chocolate swirl won.
I love the details in the chair and how the dark wax accented the coral. It is simple and easy to give worn outdated pieces a new and bold look. Please remember to think of using leather for your next upholstery project. You can also follow the Leather Hide Store on Facebook.

DeDe, I’m in love with these chairs (and I don’t usually like the color red, so that’s saying something!). The leather fabric is perfect on these chairs. I’ve got all kinds of ideas brewing now that involve leather fabric.
