A Chef I am not! A busy Mom and DIYer, yes! So when I find easy and tasty dinners, I am a happy one, so I decided to share this one with you.
As usual start with 1 pound of ground meat, brown and drain.
I found this packet of Taco seasoning a few years ago at my local grocery store in the organic section and fell in love with it. It is Nueva CoCina, click on the link and it will take you to their website where you can order their products.
I believe that the key to good taco meat is the tomato sauce. The directions on back of the package call for 8 ounces of tomato sauce and 1/4 cup water. I omit the water and just use the entire can of tomato sauce. I found by using tomato sauce in any type of taco seasoning is the KEY to a better tasting taco meat. I know there are chef’s and great cooks out there that know this already, but I am speaking to the person who does not like to cook.
Place the seasoning and sauce in the pan with drained ground meat. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Prepare the other items you will be serving with the taco meat.
We love to make Taco Salads!
I hope you enjoy this easy recipe and tip!

Finally a recipe that I can make without spending all day in the kitchen. I can’t wait to try this. I have been using the seasoning that comes in the TacoBell home kits but it leaves a funny aftertaste.

I never put tomato sauce in my taco meat… but this looks great! Thanks for sharing.

Definatly try it the next time you make some. Any brand I’d fine, just use tomato sauce instead of water.
